Dave Kirby- Partner
After 15 years in the USAF flying fighter aircraft, Major David Kirby traded in the cockpit for a desk job at McCashland Kirby Insurance Agency in July 1994. He and his wife Ann have 5 daughters and two young grandkids. Although he’s not dropping laser guided bombs any longer, he still flies around the country in a private airplane, visiting clients and helping with their insurance. When he’s not up in the sky or in the office, he can be found on the golf course or working on rental properties in his free time.
Mike McCashland- Partner
Mike began his insurance career in 2002 with McCashland Kirby Insurance Agency after owning several Runza Restaurant franchises. Mike and his wife reside in Omaha where they raised three children. In their free time they enjoy traveling and spending time with friends and family.
Gary T Schneider- Account Executive
Gary is a native of O’Neill, NE. After graduating from St. Mary’s High School he went on to play football for the University of Nebraska and received a degree in finance. Gary has been in the insurance business since 1990. He joined McCashland Kirby Insurance Agency in 2007.
Libby Gourlay – Personal Lines Account Manager
Libby grew up just south of Lincoln where she graduated from Norris High School in 2021. She moved to Arizona to attend Grand Canyon University and graduated with a bachelor’s in Marketing and Advertising. Once she moved back to Lincoln after college, she began working at McCashland Kirby Insurance Agency in the fall of 2024. After working here at our agency for a few months answering the phones, she became a licensed agent. Libby enjoys spending time with family and friends, working out, and traveling in her free time. She is excited to see where her insurance career takes her.
Elissa Biggerstaff- Office Manager
Elissa joined McCashland Kirby Insurance Agency in April 1999 after working with Allied Insurance for 2 years. In addition to managing the office, Elissa works with our large commercial clients and produces her own book of business. In her free, time Elissa enjoys spending time with her 2 children and playing volleyball.
Kelli Duchek – Receptionist
Kelli joined McCashland Kirby on November 3rd 2025, bringing 10 years of receptionist experience with her. She went to elementary school here in Lincoln, NE and then her family moved to York NE where she graduated high school. She moved back to Lincoln to go to SCC. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her boyfriend, her dog Oreo and all her family.
Jaci Manning – Commercial Lines Account Manager
Jaci started in the insurance business right after graduating from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln with a B.A. in Communications Studies/Minor in English as an Underwriter for Farmers Mutual in 2002. She worked in the homeowner’s department for 6 years and then transferred to the auto department where she became a Senior Underwriter. She worked in that department for nearly 7 years. In April of 2015 she worked as a CSR for a local insurance agency and in July of 2015 she became a licensed independent agent. She began her duties with McCashland Kirby Insurance Agency as their Claims Representative in July 2016.
In her spare time she enjoys spending time with her family; acting in a local community theater group; and helping her local sorority chapter of Alpha Delta Pi as their Chapter Advisor.
Deb Thomas- Personal Lines Customer Service Representative
Deb is a Lincoln native. She joined McCashland Kirby Insurance Agency in March 2001. She enjoys spending her free time with her husband and their 5 children.
Brenda Groskurth- Account Executive
Brenda began her insurance career at McCashland Kirby Insurance Agency in September 2008 and is a native of Lincoln. She enjoys providing prompt, friendly assistance to clients. Brenda and her husband have 2 sons. She enjoys spending time with her family and friends.
Ann Burk – Personal Lines Account Manager
Ann joined McCashland Kirby Insurance Agency in September 2022 bringing with her experience in personal lines, as well as senior health. She was first licensed in 2012 in personal lines then expanded her education in 2017 obtaining her life and health license. In her free time, she enjoys traveling, spending time with her daughter, son, 2 dogs, and reading.
Crystal Mihm – Claims Liaison
Crystal Mihm began her insurance career in 2010 and brings more than 15 years of experience to McCashland, Kirby Insurance Agency. She spent six years as a telephone claims adjuster, seven years in recovery/subrogation/arbitration, and just over a year as a commercial liability adjuster before becoming a licensed property and casualty insurance producer. Crystal’s strong background in claims gives her a deep understanding of coverage and client needs, allowing her to guide customers with confidence and care. She’s passionate about helping individuals and businesses find the right protection and is proud to be part of a team that values trust, service, and lasting relationships.
Ben Christensen – Personal Lines Account Manager
Ben was born and raised in Lincoln, NE where he attended Lincoln Southeast high school graduating in 2019. Ben played golf all four years of high school and still loves to play when he gets the chance. He attended the University of Nebraska at Lincoln and graduated in 2019 with a bachelors in Marketing. While there he was a member of Sigma Chi Fraternity and held various leadership positions. He grew up with insurance in his background and couldn’t see himself doing anything different.
Braiden Oliva – Associate Commercial Lines Account Manager
Braiden was born and raised in Lincoln where he attended Pius X high school and graduated in 2019. Braiden played football all 4 years and returned 2 years ago to help coach. He is very involved with the adult and youth sports community where he officiates, plays, and coaches a variety of sports. He went to college for sales and held a sales position for 2 ½ years working both commercial and individual clients around the US. He joined McCashland Kirby Insurance Agency in February 2025.
